Vormetric Data Security Management Console Login

How you log on depends on whether you are a global administrator or local administrator. Local administrators are used for multi-tenancy and can only access their local domains.

Global Administrator Login

A single Data Security Manager Administrator may have two passwords: one password to log directly into the Management Console and another that requires RSA SecurID authentication credentials before opening the Management Console. Which login method you use depends on how your administrator account is configured in the Management Console and in the RSA Authentication Manager.

To log into the Vormetric Management Console as a global administrator:

Enter the administrator name in the Login field.
Enter the administrator password in the Password field.
Enter the DSM administrator password when multi-factor authentication is disabled or the administrator is not configured for multi-factor authentication. If multi-factor authentication is enabled and the administrator is configured for multi-factor authentication, enter the RSA Token Code.

Local Domain Administrator Login

To log into the Management Console as a local domain administrator:

Enter the administrator name in the Login field.
Enter the administrator password in the Password field.
Check the I am a local domain administrator checkbox.
Enter your local Domain Name and click Login.

NOTE: If this does not work, uncheck the I am a local domain administrator checkbox, do not specify a local domain, and log in with the same credentials.

Smart Card Login

To setup and configure smart cards, refer to the chapter "Smart Card Access" in the DSM Administrator Guide.

Note: Currently, the Smart Card feature is compatible with Internet Explorer v11 and Microsoft Edge v10.

After you are set up on the DSM and with the smart card, when you start the browser with the smart card reader already plugged in and containing a smart card, the Smart card login displays.

Click Login on the Smart Card Login dialog.
Select an appropriate certificate and click OK.
Enter the Smart card PIN in the Smart Card Provider dialog and click OK.
